Emkro knows that depending on how, when and where you live your energy comes from different sources. Many are clean producers of energy. Many are not. Hydro-electric, wind, nuclear and solar are sources virtually free of greenhouse gas and smog causing pollutants. Coal, oil, natural gas and other fossil fuels are not. Depending on conditions of the electric power grid such as generation supply, consumer demand, transmission line maintenance, wind speed at the wind farm and many more factors the mixture of these clean and unclean resources varies greatly. A light bulb burning for an hour during a low conservation period may only produce a fraction of the carbon emissions as the same bulb burning for an hour during an extreme conservation event.
Luckily, we can minimize our usage of these dirty sources with a little planning and some prudence. This is what Emkro provides. A customized and localized conservation meter and forecast for you to be aware and to plan for a lower impact life. We then offer a wide range of tools and suggestions to help you reach your low impact goals. After you reduce it, Emkro keeps track and shows you how much real CO2 and other pollutants you did not put into your air.
